LMT Level switch
The sensor LMT monitors the liquid level in the vessels and pipelines. It can also be used for limit level detection, as protection against dry runs and as oil level detection below NH3-liquid (liquid/-liquid).
The sensor operates to the impedance spectroscopy method. It evaluates the electrical behavior of the media to be monitored in the frequency range between 50 and 200 MHz. An electric field is generated by the sensor tip which is influenced by the level. The various media show characteristic behavior. Also deposits or foam show significantly different behaviour and there is a difference between the gas and liquid phase of a certain medium.
